AMAZING is probably the best word that can describe our 3 nights stay at “THE NAMKHAN” eco-resort retreat, situated on the banks of the Namkhan River. From we arrived, the personal touch, and care was felt, and the staff did their best in order to make us feel special, and welcome at all times - often greeted by our names in restaurant and bar, which make us feel even more wanted and special as guests Had the most amazing food served in their cozy restaurant, overlooking the river, breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner was so tasty, and well cooked, with lots of flavors, fresh herbs and vegetables from their own organic farm, were you can even join, and cook your own meal after picking your vegetables on site, next to the restaurant - lots to choose from on the menu, and we especially loved the Lao local food and taste, from the menu card - you must also try one of the wonderful drinks, when happy hour in Bar & Restaurant - served with crispy cashew nuts and local roasted peanuts - always a good start Lots of activities, yoga, spa, pool, games, “beach” and sports and gym - but in a relaxed and cozy vibe - no stress, just relax and feel good - loved pool area and facilities in that area with towels and cozy bar, free cooled water served at your sun bed - what’s not to like 15 minutes drive from hotel, you find Luang Prabang city, where you should go for a boat ride on the mighty Mekong River, reception can arrange a tour for you, or just use the APP linked to reception for booking your activities 6 times a day - free shuttle to/from city center You will find a small shop in the reception, with local products made by selected local women and projects - we loved the engagement in supporting the local community - and we will cherish our new breadbaskets We can truly understand why THE NAMKHAN is a proud member of “Small Luxury Hotels of the World” - Rooms well equipped and nicely designed and decorated for maximum comfort and wellbeing Thank you Carl, and...

Our stay at The Nam Khan Resort was absolutely amazing from the moment we checked in until the end of our visit. We spent three wonderful nights there, and everything exceeded our expectations. The room had an incredible view, was spotlessly clean, and we adored the refreshing lemongrass scent throughout. The soothing sound of the river flowing nearby made it a true retreat for us. We enjoyed a massage by the pool since the spa and wellness centre was under renovation, but it was still a relaxing and delightful experience. The in-room dining was excellent, and the staff was extraordinarily friendly, helpful, and attentive—truly some of the best hospitality we've encountered! We were so impressed with their organic vegetable garden and the way they grow fresh produce to serve their guests. As someone who also makes and runs a soap and skincare business in Australia, I was thrilled to see they create their own natural shampoo and shower gel. It made me so proud of Laos and The Nam Khan Resort for this sustainable and thoughtful touch. There were plenty of activities to enjoy at the resort, and we hardly felt the need to leave. Although the weather was a bit cool for swimming, and the sauna was still under renovation, we had such a great time relaxing and exploring the premises. Overall, we are incredibly grateful to the Nam Khan team for taking such wonderful care of us and making our stay unforgettable. We will definitely return the next time we're in Laos! Warm regards, Susen & Steve

This small luxury hotel is incredible. Not only is the setting picturesque, but the staff are super friendly, know your name and would do anything to make your stay memorable. As it was my birthday, they went out of their way to provide me with a birthday cake and Karaoke on the Sunset cruise that we had booked, which they normally don’t do. After getting off the shuttle, we were whisked off to our wonderfully roomy accommodation by golf cart. These guys have thought of everything! We very much enjoyed lazing in the huts by the river which were equipped with lounging mattresses and took great delight in having a dip in both the big pool as well as the smaller one near the spa. We were gifted a beautifully handmade notebook each-a lovely surprise. Additionally, this hotel supports various charitable endeavours, thus supporting the community. Their eco-friendly philosophy is observed throughout the lodge, which is admirable. We found wandering through their organic farm interesting and the QR codes attached to plants, informative. We were impressed with the fact that the general manager took time out of his busy day to personally introduce himself and answer any questions. Overall, this was a magnificent stay and we would highly recommend it to anyone who is considering staying here. We certainly intend returning to enjoy this piece of paradise.

We stayed at this retreat to celebrate a birthday and had a really enjoyable experience overall. The property is well-maintained, with a nice pool, friendly staff, and well-presented food. The team even went out of their way to make a birthday cake and sing Happy Birthday, which was a really thoughtful touch. The manager, Carl (from New Zealand), stood out. He was approachable, helpful, and gave us some great advice for our next stop in Vietnam. One of the convenient features is the hotel’s app, which lets you request transport, order food or drinks, and message the front desk. Everything is charged to a tab that you pay at checkout, which works well, though it would be useful to be able to track your expenses through the app during the stay. They do offer gluten-free bread, which was appreciated, but this isn’t mentioned online. It would be helpful if the menu had clearer allergen labelling, especially for gluten, as nothing was marked and it meant having to ask staff regularly who had little knowledge. Overall, a great spot with strong service and a few areas that could be improved to make things even smoother. We’d be happy to come back.

Incredible hospitality from Carl and his team of beautiful humans. The small touches went a long way, turn down service, the little gifts left each night on my bed, how they top up your water frequently at the pool. I was SOOOOOO glad I stayed out of town- Luang Prabang town is beautiful but noisy and this place was pure peace. The breakfast (unlimited a la carte) was outstanding. The coconut crepes were delicious, they even let me take coffee/smoothies away when I had an early tour. This is a minor detail but it melted my heart the way they folded and pressed my socks! Into perfect origami cubes :) free yoga, sauna, ice baths. Watching the locals just across the river was fascinating. My favourite thing about the resort is its heart- they put great effort into supporting local blood drives, they have 16 (well trained, vaccinated, friendly) dogs on site, they help fund emergency surgery’s for locals. It’s a complete oasis and I would love to come back xxxx
